Who knows samething about made in India fountain pen? It looks like Sheaffer no nonsens

I am looking for as much information about the Sheaffer 325 fountain pen. I recently inherited it from my grandfather who got it new in the 1950-69 time-period. Surprisingly, since it had been stored, it wrote very well and the remaining ink hadn't dried. Since running out of ink, I've carefully cleaned it without disassembly. This pen doesn't look expensive, but looks can be deceiving (from previous experience!). It has a pump-action to it, and I found several other non-sheaffer tips with it, so I assume you can change out the tips. The pump works downward toward the tip, and the tip is gold-plated. The body of it an amalgam of colors; olive, silver, dark red, and black blended together. Holding the tip there is a black piece that looks unscrewable, though when I've tried it doesn't bulge. As for ink, I've learned you can pump it up into the bag inside it's body. I've been using small plastic ink-cartridges made for a cheaper fountain pen (cirra. 1995+) that are disposable. If you have any information on this particular fountain pen, I would greatly appreciate it. If you wish to contact me via e-mail, my address is: wolfgang0974@hotmail.com Thank you so much! Ivan

Does any one know what pen this is? or who WG NORD could be. I think this was bought probably about 50 years ago as second hand from a pawn shop by my husbands uncles. This was probably bought in the New York area. Please let me know if you have any info concerning this piece. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I hav a sheaffer ball point pen. It has a gold finish and trims. The finish is sparkling and looks as if it is made up of lots of small bits. It is very thin and light. However, it is no longer on sale and I don't know wot the model is. I think it may be a Targa but I'm not sure. On the ring it reads: sheaffer england gold plated it also has picture of a crown on the ring. Can anyone tell me wot model it is?

Hello - I have recently inherited a Sheaffer Lady gold fountain pen from the 1970s. The black plastic section (connected to the nib) is corroded. I am trying to find someone who could repair or replace the section but am not having much luck. Does anyone have any experience of this? I am based in the UK.

I have a boxed set: ball point pen & pencil in a hard plastic case. The case has a red velvet oval that the instruments rest on and they're held in place by two pieces of elastic. I'm curious as to the age (I'm guessing 1980s) and their name or item number. Anyone know this set? Thanks!

I was gifted a set of Sheaffer's Targa pen in probably 1982 ( it is the one with a silver body with fixed nib to the pincer handle) It has no markings except Sheaffer USA on the nib. I haven't used it for the last 20 years or so. Now the flow is irregular. Can any one tell me how to clean it?

Sheaffer pens that have been passed on to me 1 is navy blue in colour plastic with gft & 18k nib; 2 gold rings at the base of the cap, and 1 above the clip & white dot. the other is brown with chevron pattern barrel & cap + 18k nib - old style clip. Can anyone help identify them?

Tektor Tip Alternative Refills?
I have a friend on the Fountain Pen Network site who is looking for assistance with a tektor tip pen from the 70s. I seem to remember that a PA company was making replacement refills for Tektor pens, but now I can't find that reference. Does anyone know of any current refills that will work in Tektor model pens? The other option he has is to take the body and get an Imperial nib and convert it to a fountain pen, which he may do if all else fails. Thanks for any advice or comments.... -Joe Smith

I have an antique fountain pen I,m trying to find info on. It has a screw cap with a gold cap end and a ring for a chain. Length with cap on is 3 7/8 inch. Tip is gold (plated?) with "SHEAFFER S*LF FILLING -2-" MARKED ON IT. The pen body has stamped into it "W.A.SHEAFFER PEN CO. PAT., AUG 25-08-FORT MADISON,IA.USA,DEC.10-12-JAN.27-OCT.20-NOV.24-14". The body still has the pump filler handle that appears to be gold plate. Can anyone tell me what the body material is? Can this pen be rebuilt (ink section was dry, brittle and the inside came out in dry ink pieces)?

Trying to get info on a 1024X
Hi, I have a 20 year old Sheaffer 1024X sterling silver fountian pen set. The cardboard sleeve says "Sheaffer Timeless Sterling Fountian Pen 1024X-0," the box contains silver plate boxes for the pen and ink cartridges. The pen itself is still in the plastic bag, so hard to view the pen welt. But it has what appears to be gold plated accents.. My question is, in Googling around for info about this set, I've not found anything exactly the same. Other sets of this type have models like 1024X-SB, and lack gold accents. Is the 1024X-0 a proper model number for this set, or perhaps the cardboard sleeve was swapped out at some point prior to me getting the thing 20 years ago? This is a picture... http://blog.trafficshaper.com/wordpress-content/uploads/2010/09/S1024X9.jpg This shows the end of the pen a bit better... http://blog.trafficshaper.com/wordpress-content/uploads/2010/09/S1024X12.jpg The pen was new in the 1988-1990 time frame. My primary concern if the model number, the 1024X-0 just seems wrong. Another showing the hallmark. The non-visible side says "U.S.A." http://blog.trafficshaper.com/wordpress-content/uploads/2010/09/S1024X10.jpg Thanks! -- Bob

i have found a pen i think it might possibly be worth something. if anyone knows about it lplease let me know, ive been trying to find out if i got something here. it is a green marble style fountain pen with gold embosedthere is a gold ring on the lower end of the cap and on top of the cap it is flat with a white dot on top of the flat area. out of all the pictures ive seen so far the caps clip part looks nicer or different more stylish then every picture that i seen and ive noticedit is curved and only half a ball on the end of the clip wher others have a full ball on the bottom of the clip. on to the tip it looks like alot of the tips ive seen where it says sheaffer's then lifetime then under that it says reg.us.pat.off. and under that it says made in U.S.A on the side of the actuall pen body itself it says W.A SHEAFFER PEN CO. FORT MADISON,IOWA, USA PATENTED IN U.S.A i do have the original bow that it came with that has a gold top and white bottom with a green sheet of paper in it stating the seaffer guarantee. the inside of the pen is very clean and im guessing all it needs is ink to write. i do have pictures. which i can email to anyone who might know or could help me out. like i said i have done alot of research just for the fact that it doesnt look exactly like some of the pictures of the early 1920's style would look like it looks better and has a way betterr styling t oit. i know it isnt fake either because i have everything that came with it to make it authentic, box, top, garantee papers, and its in verygood condition. sorry to drag it on but id like to let somone know that i need thier help to see if i got something special or not, thanks john hecker

Have a display case for Sheaffer's Leads and Erasers. Measures about 22"X15". 3"high on the front sloping up to 6" on the back. Sliding glass doors on the top gives access to 30 compartments measuring 2"X4" and each were labeled with various lead sizes and colors and hardness. Also on top is "SHEAFFER'S LEADS MAKE ALL PENCILS WRITE BETTER, Fine line, Super Smooth". Under these compartments is a drawer accessed from the back with ten more compartments. I have a sheaffer fountain pen with a "triumph nib". I think its originally with a snorkel but that snorkel thing is lost now. The cap shows that it is made in Australia where as the nib says it's made in USA. (Totally steel nib) It has a white dot on the cap. The entire pen is of steel( barrel and cap) The nib is of medium or small size. Unfortunately, the nib is broken and bent sideways. Could any one suggest a way of getting it repaired by replacing with a nib and snorkel in india. I would like to also if any one can offer a similr type of pen for sale.

What were the inexpensive cylindrical fountain pens from 80s
I'm trying to figure out the timeline of the low-end, broad-distribution fountain pens from the Sheaffer line. There was a period, I'm not sure how long, where the pens were perfectly cylindrical, no tapering at end or cap. I think they started in solid plastics, and then added the transparent bodies in various colors. What line is that? What is the history of that line?

My wife and I were going through some old family items that I have. One item that we came across is a silver pitcher. Its engraved "PRESIDENTS TROPHY--SHEAFFER LIFETIME PENS" then my great uncles name and under that the date May 1st 1926. My great uncle died before I was even born. They never had any children and my parents don't know any of the history about it. I am trying to see if I canfind any thing out about this, I guess that I am one of those people that can't stand not knowing the history.

I have a collectors set that includes a gold ball point pen and a gold pencil and each is imprinted as being 14 karat gold. I received this as a gift in the 1940's and was packaged in a leather alligator box inscribed Sheaffer in gold print with gold metal trim. Inside the box is purple satin finish with the name Sheaffer inscribed. Both pen and pencil are imprinted with vertical lines running the length of both barrels. The ball point pen body shape looks like the Sheaffer pictured as a "Roaring Twenties Colletion" differing in that it's gold instead of Silver. I need a Sheaffer refill for the ball point pen and it used to be available as a Dokumental '303'. Both of these writing insturments are in perfect condition but use is limited because I haven't been able to find the refill cartridge. Lead for the pencil is available. Any imput would be appreciated.

I have a Sheaffer single-pen ballpoint desk set I'm trying to identify, so I'm asking for your help. I've had this set since the mid-70's and use it nearly every day. Unfortunately, all identifying numbers/tags have long ago worn off, and I have no idea how much I paid for it except it seemed quite expensive at the time.. There is a 1' long black w/ white letters tag on one long side with the 'Shaeffer' name. The letters are all caps. The desk set base is tan marble, completely smooth with no nicks or dings, and measures 5" x 3.5" x 3/4", and has a black felt cover on the bottom. The pen has a white dot near the tapered top of the all-brown pen barrel. There is only a very thin ferrel at the separation point where the two pen parts screw together. The pen measures nearly 7" long x 1/2" diameter, and is very light in weight even with the ink refill inside. The 3-position polished brass pen holder swivels 360 degrees in the base, and the barrel is permanently fixed (does not screw on or off) to the insertion nub. The brass barrel at the pen insertion point is straight, not flared or fluted. I love this set and would like to find another identical set to use with either a ballpoint or rollerball refill (I don't use fountain pens). Thanks for any help you have.

Dear JW Morgan, in reply to your post, may I be honest to say that even I have faced the same problem with almost all the Sheaffer pens I've had. On the contrary, may I also mention that this problem of leaking has occured in only those pens which are fitted with the famous 'inlaid' nibs, this is of course my personal experience! As mentioned by you, even I do take great care of my writing instrumens, in fact at times it gets difficult to cater to so many pens that I've collected but still have not got an answer to why these pens leak? I were rather disheartened to notice drops of ink on the nib of my Legacy!! And in India it is really not possible to get an expet to get these pens fixed, not that they are very reliable either. Any how, I completely sympathise and empathise with you as I'm facing the same problem as you and am looking for an answer too. Regards, Georgie Guha.

Over the passed 20 years I have had both vintage & new Sheaffer fountain pens. Can anyone give me some good reasons or have the same experience that I have. Every new Sheaffer I have bought has leaked no matter what the filling mechanism design. I am currently using a Balance & Legacy. The Legacy leaks like the others I have had. Can anyone advise. I look after my equipment so this is not a matter of misuse. Thanks. JW Morgan

Dear Madam, I just read your post. A Pen is sure to have some kind of mark or emblem on it. Fountain pens usually have the make engraved on the nibs or some kind of an emblem eg. a WATERMAN would have "W" engrved on the nib or a PELIKAN would surely have the 'head and bill' of a pelikan. On the contrary, a SHEAFFER would carry the name in itself embossed on the nib. Any way, I hope you can very soon learn about your pen. Do look for any information about the instrument on its nib. All the best.

I have an old lever fill gold and black striped pen. It has an ink view and Feather Touch nib, not gold. The cigar band is 8 mm wide and finely etched in a striped pattern. I find various similar pens but not with an 8 mm wide cigar band. I have had it almost forever and had tossed it into a junk box until recently. Because of the wide gold band I can't identify my old pen. The pens I find have a narrow band. ANY IDEAS?

Greetings to all. I have, quite recently started building a collection of Sheaffer pens. At the moment, I have collected about 5 Sheaffer Imperials. Thats nothing great, I do realise that but I would like to learn more about this paticular model- the Imperial. I'll be grateful if you kindly post any article concerning the model. Thaks again.

I am a new member; joined just yesterday; I recently inherited a Minka Iridium Point fountain pen, maybe a Sheaffer, has grapevine design on nib; anybody know any information? I also have acquired a Sheaffer from a Calliraphy kit, a NoNonsense fountain pen with 3 nibs: a Broad (0.07"), a Medium (0.05"), and a Fine (0.03"). I have also acquired a slim Mini Sheaffer fountain pen that I bought for only $2.00 at a market! (A very good deal in my opinion...)

I have just inherited my first Sheaffer pen - I ah no idea they were that good and could easily be tempted into collecting them. The pen I have inherited is a gold plated TRZ - all I know about it is that it dates from the 1980's - ca anybody point me in the right direction for a bit of history on the model?

Hi. TToday I came across and purchased a unique Shaeffer snorkel pen. It is brown in color and has a 14 K gold nib. It did not come with a cap and instead of being rounded off at the end it has a long barrel that tapers at the end. In doing some research on the internet I have come to realize that it may have belonged to a desk set. Does anyone have some useful information?

hi everyone, hoped to pick someones brains. i have recently aquired a sterling silver imperial ballpoint, only problem is the actuator clip is detatched from the pen and i assume the spring to be missing.with a donor pen, is it possible to repair at home with very little knowledge of the internals of pens or alternatively is it likely to be an expensive repair from a specialist and where should i begin to look? thanks in anticipation, tony

This could be a hopeless (or clueless?) question, but...are there any sources for the classic Skrip cartridges with burgundy ink? I've had *some* luck finding emerald green, but burgundy--which I wish Sheaffer would bring back, but that undoubtedly IS hopeless!--must be rare, indeed. Also, I'm thinking that I *could* save some old, used cartridges, buy burgundy ink made by anybody, and refill...but. I've seen references to buying a syringe--I'm assuming of the very fine-point variety, like a hypodermic needle--at a drugstore for use with refills. Is it REALLY possible to find syringes that easily, given great suspicion about what one might be using a syringe for? My wife is a piano technician, and has had to buy syringes for detailed work in repairs, and she had to go to a medical supply store, and even then, she was looked at suspiciously and grilled re: why she wanted a syringe. So...should I be looking for a different, less suspect sort of syringe? Thanks. New to the list/forum, glad to be clueless, willing to take suggestions from list members more in-the-know than I, etc. :)

Old Pens-Glass dipping pen plus early ink pen
I have recently found two pens belonging to my great grandmother and to my grandmother amongst the belonging of my father. I am not sure if my great grandmother's pen is a Sheaffer, but it was in a Sheaffer box. It is a glass dipping pen. The stem is made of hollow glass and is filled with different coloured sands. The nib has a fne bulbous twist with lots of grooves, and then there is a very fine point. Did Sheaffer make such pens? The second pen belonging to my grandmother has a lever side action refil. It is of a brown material with golden streaks. Could be tortoise shell. It has the IOWA factory address imprinted on it plus my grandmother's married name, so it is post 1928. Is there an archive of photographs I can reference the pen to?

hello. my grandfather, verle johnson worked at sheaffer's in fort madison for a long time...probably the 1950sish to 1990s...just wondering if anyone else worked during this time on these boards and perhaps knew him. also, i recently found an old tin pencil lead holder at a thrift store for 25 cents...just wondering if anyone knew what it would be worth...not that i'm selling it...it is all i really have that symbolizes my grandfather...but my father saw it and said that it was worth something. just curious. it is blue and yellow and has red leads inside of it.

how to use series 300 mechanical pencil...
I have purchased Sheaffer mechanical pencil from an Australian store. I think it is a 300 series model (the box didn't have any indications) -- but by looking at the pictures on the Internet I think it is a 300 series indeed. I am unable to find the online manuals for 300 series, so I thought I'd ask on this forum. I would like to know about the features of the pencil and it's maintenance (e.g. refilling) -- as I don't want to just push/twist things with force... Namely, how does one refill the pencil? Also, the body seems to twist both ways (clock-wise and anti-clock-wise): 1) one way appears to advance the lead forward with the body automatically returning/twisting back; 2) rotating in the other way also appears to advance the lead but then "clicks into place" whilst leaving the lead "freely moving" -- what is it for? How is one advised on using such features? Also, some ads say that the pencil has "protective tip to guard against lead breakage" -- it appears to be just a static (not moving) metal tip... is it all there is to it, or is there a way for this thing to be manipulated further somehow? Moreover, are the following features present (it's ok if they are not -- but it would be good to know): auto-advance; and advancing by shacking ? Thanks for reading this rather long(ish) post :-)

I recently uncovered a set of writing instruments that belonged to my mother. She obtained them sometime in the 1960's. The set consists of a sterling silver whitedot ballpoint pen with and floral(?) design and a matching sterling silver white dot pencil. the set is in its original box and is in excellent condition. Can anyone hazard a guess at the value of this set. Further would anyone be interested in becoming its new owner?

Hi - I am looking for information regarding, what I believe to be a 1956 snorkel pen and pencil set. The set includes a white dot cartridge pen, a white dot old fashion draw fountain pen, and a mech. pencil (no white dot). The set comes in a brown case that is embossed with an alligator pattern, with a wine velvet colored interior. I have never seen one these sets on any of the auction sites. I would like to put it on ebay, but don't know what to start the bidding at. I was lucky enough to talk to a collector that sold just one of the white dot snorkels for over $300. at auction. If there is anyone who might give me an idea on this 3 piece set, or if anyone would like to be the lucky new owner, please contact me at dhlyankee@aol.com. Nib is marked: "SHEAFFER'S; REG U.S. PAT. OFFICE; MADE IN U.S.A.; 14K." I have researched, but I can't find an identical models. I was looking at EBAY auctions tonight for bottles of vintage Sheaffer ink and saw an auction for a bottle of Sheaffer washable blue ink that was manufactured in Canada. I'm familiar with the Fort Madison, Iowa production of ink but didn't know there was ink made in Goderich, Ontario, per the box on EBAY. This box appears to be early 1960's vintage. Does anyone have any information on Canadian years of production or information in general about this? Thanks....

I have a Sheaffer, silver colour fountain (a part of a set of Fountain & Ball) with a stainless steel narrow nib. The problem is that the nib shakes everytime to write and makes it impossible to create legible language. I am not sure of what model it is but its a got unique motif band engraved in steel (probably) at the edge of the pen's cap. Somebody said its a Lady. Please inform me of its name and also how to have it repaired. I consulted a few repair centres who informed that its a manufacturing defect but I still want to confirm it.

I have a CM64 Ring Top, Midget sized, gold filled ribbon pattern pen & pencil set, circa 1921. They are in a royal blue presentation box white satin top, blue velvet style bottom. I would like to have them both refurbished and returned to full use. Lifetime Balance nibs?
Hello, I was recently given a gift of three old pens, of which two are WWII era Sheaffer Balances. One of them had been restored and is now in use, but the other will need some restoration done, including either repair or replacement of the nib as it is missing the end of one tine. Doe anyone know of a source of nibs for thise pens? From the clues found on several Web sites, it's a lever-fill Thin Standard Lifetime Balance in striated Marine Green. The nib is gold-plated on the top side only, and marked: 014933 Sheaffer's Lifetime Reg US Pat Off Made in USA Thank you for any assistance you can offer. Mike

It is blue with 14K gold trim and a white dot. It looks like (from what I've read) that it came from the late 50's. Can anyone help? Thanks!

I posted a few years ago, but wanted to check if anyone could help me identify the pen and pencil set I have. They are sterling silver, with what looks to be grapes and vines carved on them. I would like to at least find out the year they were made. Thank you!

Hi, I have bought an unused Shaeffer Concorde Edition which is beatifully boxed and the pen itself is unused and mint indeed. On the clip is a chrome concorde shape, as in the MACH 2 Airliner! Any idea of the hisorry of this item and whether it is collectable or not. Mind you, its too good and beautiful to sell! The pen itself is a matt graphite colour and looks 1970's to me, but I do not know at all. THANKS !

I just inherited a Sheaffer pen and pencil set (black barrel with silver tops), nestled in their flocked bed insert, in the original black and clear plastic box. And a Guarantee slip dated December 25, 1965 from the Ohio Pen Shop at 115 East Fifth St., Government Square, Cincinnati,Ohio. Does this set have any value beyond their everyday use? If I were to put it up for sale, how much would be a fair price to ask? Thank you for any help, Ellen

Hi I have a Sheaffer fountain pen here that has a 14K LIFETIME nip, 14K clip, and a 14K band at the bottom of the cap that is 1.5cm wide. It also has a white dot on the top of the cap. It is not a snorkel and I do not think it is a triumph....It resembles them almost in every way other than it has a solid body that is all smooth and fills with a lever on the side....Would really appreciate it if anyone could help me identify it....and help me determine its value...A friend wants to purchase it and wants to be fair but not knowing its worth is frustrating ....Thanks

Sheaffer Watch
Hello, I have a Sheaffer watch that was a sample produced for a promotion in New Zealand back in the 90's, however this never eventuated so only one was produced. The watch is gold in colour with black straps, it also has a white face with the old red Sheaffer logo printed on it. The watch doesn't work and I assume it's because the battery's flat, although I have never worn it. If there are any collector's that are interested in purchasing it I can email photos.

I'm in the dark about the pens that my dad left behind when he died. I will try to describe them. Two tortoise shell pens. One is just over 5 inches the other is 5 1/2 inches. The longer one is a torpedo shape and the shorter one has blunt ends. both nibs are in very good shape and have 'Lifetime' on them. The one on the torpedo pen has a number 3181176. I can't see any cracks or chips. I would like to sell them but don't know where to begin. Thanks for any help.

Hi. This week my son was given a sheaffer fountain pen that used to belong to his Great Grandad. We would like to know about it if anyone can help? The pen comes in a goldy-brown, heavy, silk lined hinged case. On the inside lid of the case there is the Sheaffer's name. Unfortunately, the instructions in the case are for the Snorkel pen, and this quite obviously isn't one of them! The pen itself is complete and has a green mother of pearl apperance with a clip on the lid that bears the Sheaffer mark. The nib is 14 crt gold and says Conway Stewart. When I Googled this I didn't see one resembling this one. On the side of the pen there is a small metal lever? I pressume this is for drawing up ink. Can anybody tell me what model it is, how you draw up ink and approximate value? We'll never sell it but I'd like to know just in case I need to look after it myself until my son is responsible enough to appreciate it. Many thanks in advance Caroline

Hi, I am from Aruba , Dutch Caribbean. Recently my mother gave me her Sheaffer's pen which she received at age 15 from her father. This was the year 1949. The pen is intact and has a 14K point. The pen uses inkt. I looked the model up in your Website and found it as a model of the fifties . I want to know where I can get the refill for this pen. I will be in Florida in august and would like to bring the pen to a retail outlet.

I have come across a pen in my parents loft that was left to them 12 years ago, I have no idea of it's age, but it is a green plastic looking pen with gold nib, then end squares off and can be undone and pulls out I presume to suck up the ink. It has a gold ring around the pen lid and a gold clip with sheaffer's on it. Does anyone have any idea which model it would be and if it is worth anything, it is still in it's orginal box.

I just uncovered a long-neglected, Sheaffer PumpWell fountain pen. It must have been part of a desk set. No cap, Nib lookes like all the ones I've seen on sites today that say Valor, with the long gold nib that has a long diamond shape of the plastic showing. I know nothing about this pen. Can I find instructions somewhere on how to clean and care for this pen? The nib says, "SSHEAFFER 14K 585" There is an R in a circle (registered trademark symbol?) and at the far end of the nib it say USA. It has a white dot at the "non-business" end of the pen. The pen opens to pump the well by unscrewing up at that same end. There's a joint near the business end of the pen but I can't seem to unscrew it. Don't want to force it and damage it. Looking for suggestions, advice???

I have two sheaffer writing instruments. I would like to know the approximate value of each, if anyone would be obliged to assist me with this request. Following are the descriptions. Forgive for I am not versed in "pen terminology". - Sheaffer 283 Rolling Ball. - Sheaffer. Orange plastic barrel,gold-tone center band, and nib, same gold-tone "clicker" that operates from the side like a see-saw. the barrel is round, however the end opposite the nib, develops to square shape.

In the family since I don't know when some research indicating the late teens of 20th century to third decade. A beautiful marble or jade ashtray, with a dog attached, looks like a German Shepard. The nib says Sheafers 5-30. It is a long thinner pen I've seen in other pictures w/the price tag still attached 5-30D and $5.00. I am hesitant to mess w/any parts, the thin fixture to pull the ink up goes up only so far. Green felt underneath the ash tray U.S. Patents 1641829. The pen itself says patents Dec 10 12 then then Jan 27th and Oct 20-Nov 2414. Well I was thinking of putting it on e-bay, it had always been a pretty piece, but times are hard. Can anyone identify this set, and its approximate value? Thank you in advance.

Hello, I'm a new member and joined to try and learn anything I can about an old Sheaffer pencil that I have owned since my grandfather left it to me when he died, back in 1968! It is red, white and blue. The white section appears to be mother of pearl. There is a crest on this part consisting of an eagle perched on top of a shield? and "United States Navy" written underneath. There is no lead in it but it still has the eraser on the top. My grandfather was in the British Army during WW2 and I can only assume he was given it then. I would love to know it's history/value and would love to hear from anyone who may know something/anything about it. Cheers, Mandi (from N. Ireland)

Hello. This is my first post. I'm a new collector having trouble identifying some Sheaffer ball pens. Can anyone tell the names of the following: #1. Plastic clicker, chrome cap, plastic barrel? #2. square clicker, chrome cap, plastic barrel? #3. slanted top on chrome cap, plastic barrel, short reminder clip? #5. flat top on chrome cap, plastic barrel, standard clip? #6. long slender pen, aluminum clicker?, chrome cap, plastic barrel? Are they Sylists? #7. gold-filled, crome, plastic combos of cap/barrel, reminder clips are long and slender and gapped at the top, some have white dots, some S's, some nothing. #8. slender pens, brushed chrome caps, plastic barrels, white dot, short reminder clips? Are they Triumph Imperials? I would be grateful for any help. Thank you.

Can someone help me figure out what pen this is. I have a Sheaffer that is what I have seen referred to as brown striated design. It has the white dot. The nib says Sheffer's, LIFETIME, Reg. U.S. Pat. Off., Made in USA, 14K. The pen is streamlined from the body to the nib. The cap has a sort of wide gold band where it connects, with a couple of lines in the band. It appears the end of the pen is supposed to unscrew and pulls out to load ink. Any help as far as determing the year would be helpful. It is a beautiful pen.

I have a Schaeffer pen of my dad's. It was probably purchased in the 1940's. It has a plunger-type refill that is worked by unscrewing the end, pulling it out and pushing it in. I wanted to know if the nib is removable. I cannot unscrew it, but it may be stuck.

Expertise in vintage desk pen needed
Hi, We recently found my husband's grandfather's pen (W.D. Nobles, the 1st)and I am trying to get it back in working order. Can anyone help me identify/date it (we think 1940's) and give me some help as to how to fill it with ink again. We want to eventually pass it down to our grandson who is W.D., the 5th. Here is a link to pictures of it. http://picasaweb.google.com/kjnobles/VintageDeskPen?authkey=ekSECjvHA0w# Note what is left of the ink bladder : ) Thanks!!

There is a number that looks like 95?? and the white dot. I have just used up the last refill and can no longer find another, so am heartbroken. Help, anyone?

Fineline Ball Point
Hi, I have a Sheaffer Fineline Ball Point Pen, Black barrel & Copper colored cap. The "cartridge" is metal (silver colored) has "Z D A Micro-crafted" engraved as well as the usual Sheaffer info. Is this replaceable (if so with what and where can I get it)? Or is it permanent and refillable (if so how?). Thanks!

I'm trying to identify the model and age of a Sheaffer fountain pen I acquired. On the barrel, besides the Sheaffer Pen Co. part, it has a tiny 350 stamped into it and above a woman's name ''ETHEL ANHOLZER''. It's green/gold striped, with a small ring of gold around the very bottom edge of the cap. Lever fill.

Identifying a ballpoint
I was given a pen from my father nearly ten years ago, which I unfortunately lost a short time later. I believe it was an Agio, but I'm unsure. The barrel was about a half-inch in diameter, and seemed to be brushed stainless steel (or chrome). It had gold trim, and the cap attached to the end of the pen which was shaped like this (______) (best I can do), so that when it was attached it would be flush with the pen. It looked very nice and was remarkably comfortable to write with. It was just this small feature that seems to be missing from the current Agio's (just from the photos it seems, I haven't seen one up close), so I get the impression they are one in the same. Can anyone tell me where I could either find this pen, or if the current Agio's are the same?

I purchased a Sheaffer White Dot Crest Fountain pen with Triumph nib and vacuum fill. (1947?) The cap is metal and has almost all the goldplating gone. I have been told that these caps were silver underneath the goldplate. Is this true? The estimate for replating the cap is $60. If it is silver, I'll leave it alone. Thanks for any info....

On the barrel, besides the Sheaffer Pen Co. part, it has a tiny 500 stamped into it. Sheaffer's England?
I am trying to find some facts about Sheaffer's pen was giving me as a gift 15 years ago. Maybe I am wrong, but I believe there could something unique about this pen, because it was giving me by exceptional person. Please, help me find out history about this pen it cares very special memories for me. Here is information I collected: 1. Fountain pen nib-section has sign "80010 F". 2. Nib labeled: "Sheaffer's 1920 18K 750 STE||PF" 3. Pen's cap labeled "Sheaffer's England". 4. Ball-point pen came with this gift has the same label - "Sheaffer's England". I would really appreciate any information about this pen. My best regards to fine writing instruments enthusiasts.

I became interested in collection Sheaffer while remembering my high school days ('65-'68) and a fountain pen I had. I would be extemely interested in finding one like it. Satin aluminium barrel and top with black nib unit in what was either XXXF or XXXXF steel. I'll be periodically lurking and will provide info as I can. Good collecting everyone.

Clogging and drying up
Sheaffer seems to have reformulated Skrip ink some time in the last few years; I finally ran out of bottled ink, and had to buy a new supply. Almost immediately, I started having problems with nibs clogging and drying up. Switching back to some older Skrip cartridges that I had lying around cured the problem, so it's clearly related to the ink somehow. Anybody else seeing this? Suggestions on what to do?

Looking for a Pencil
I am trying to find a Slim Targa pencil, Sterling Silver, straight line design, probably #1004. Looks like a 1005 which are plentiful in gold on ebay. But apparently maybe the design was changed without chnaging the number. What I want is the more bold single line pattern. I have been shipped now three pieces with a very delicate line, which is not what I need. I had the whole set and loved using it. I left the pencil in a restaurant. Alternately, since i now have the pencil and ballpoint in the lighter line finish, I could take the Rollerball in that finish. Any help will be appreciated. >>RSM

Recently I have got this addiction of collecting Sheaffer and cross pens. But to tell the truth, I am liking sheaffer more than cross because of its style, looks, class and elegance. Last pen I bought is gift collection 2 with marble finish. I am fully satisfied with the instrument. Moreover, its weight is accurate which give good writing and solid grip. Just want to request if its possible to add a roller in the same collection so that i can complete my set.

Greetings, I am new to fountain pen collecting and recently acquired a Sheaffer at an estate sale. I was hoping to get some assistance with identifying aspects of the pen, specifically the approximate year made and anything else unique (value, is it a common pen, etc.). It is black in color. I believe it is the 'lever-filler' type. The pocket clip and wide cap band are marked 14K. The clutch ring is gold in color, but is not marked. The 4 line embossing appearing horizontally on the pen reads: "0673", "W.A. SHEAFFER PEN CO.", "FORT MADISON, IOWA, U.S.A.", "MADE IN U.S.A.". There are no corporate or personalized engravings. The nib reads: "SHEAFFERS", "REG. U.S. PAT. OFF.", "MADE IN U.S.A.", "14K". There are no signs of cracks or chips, and the pen seems to have mild, even wear. I have not attempted to use the pen. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!. Thank you.
